
Blanxart - Peru 81% BIO NO SUGAR
This 81% bar is made the traditional way from hand-selected Criollo cocoa beans from the Alto Piura region of Peru. A very nice full-bodied cocoa bar with fresh acidity and mild bitter notes.
SAASE is called it in Spanish: sin azúcares añadidos sin edulcorantes, or: no added sugars no sweeteners. There is agave fiber in the chocolate. But is that sugar? At least not an artificial sweetener. The nVWA doesn't know (March 2024).
Something may be called sugar-free if it has less than 0.5 grams of sugar per 100 grams. But chocolate - and many other products - have natural sugars anyway. And what is agave fiber? Blanxart solves this by printing 0% twice on the packaging.
