Menakao - Cocoa Nibs & Sea Salt 63%
The image represents the portrait of a Tanala woman (those who live in the forest): the Tanala populate the forest area in the southeast of the island between the stronghold of the coastal region of Antemoro and the highlands occupied by the Betsileo. This group extracts almost all its resources from the forest. Hunting, collecting plants and wild honey, but also chopping wood, traditional rice growing on “tavy” (land deforested by fire) and coffee growing are the main activities of this forest population… The Tanala have a traditional pharmacopoeia. So some healers know the virtues of several hundred species of plants.
Crunchy cocoa nibs (crushed cocoa beans) give a rustic and robust feel that fits perfectly with the spicy freshness and notes of red chocolate fruit. The fleur de sel enriches and extends this experience, provides a pleasant feeling and improves the subtle acidity of the cocoa beans.
