Blanxart - Leche Filipinas 44%
The Blanxart Leche Filipinas 44% finds its roots in the Philippine province of Davao Oriental on the South-Western island of Mindanao. In the municipality of San Isidro several farmers work together with the cultivation of the cocoa beans that are processed into the chocolate of the Leche Filipinas 44%. The San Isidro Coöperatie has been making a positive contribution to the success and growth of the individual members of the partnership for years.
The beans that are grown and hand-selected for this bar are from the Trinitario cocoa variety, which is a cross between Criollo and Forastero cocoa. The Trinitario has about the same strong taste profile as the Criollo, but is more robust, which is another feature of the Forastero. Nevertheless, the taste of this bar is soft and mild. The sweet notes of milk, caramel, nuts and lime unleash a tasteful, yet tender experience.
